Definitive Kanye West Song List! (Part 2)

Definitive Kanye West Song List! #25-21

#25. Mercy ft. Big Sean, Pusha T, and 2 Chainz – One of the most unusually samples to be used in hip hop… It’s 2012, so of course we see Big Sean and 2 Chainz as the features here… Their feature money that year must of been Donald Trump huge that year…

#24. No More Parties in L.A. ft. Kendrick Lamar – Kanye has a long history of rappers “out doing” him on his own tracks. Yeezy even reference’s this on the Lil Wayne “Lollipop” remix… This song is no exception, Kendrick “bodies” the instrumental while Kanye does an admiral job of keeping up, but is just simply out performed in the end…

#23. Dark Fantasy ft. Teyana Taylor – “DJs need to listen to the models”, “You ain’t got no f***in’ Yeezy in your Serato?”… It took me “years” before I actually found out what that “line” actually meant. Google “Serato” if you were like me, and need some clarity on the matter…

#22. So Appalled ft. Jay-Z, Pusha T, Cyhi the Prynce, Swizz Beatz, and RZA – This is one of those songs that will make you scrunch your face while simultaneously bobbing your head the whole time your listening to it… That’s generally a good indicator of whether a song is dope or not… This song is definitely dope…

#21. Heartless – I’m going to level with you… Im not the biggest fan of “808s and Heartbreak”. It’s arguably the most “influential” Kanye album ever, and I understand that, but for me personally it’s just not a very good hip hop album in the “traditional” sense… “Heartless” was the stand out song of that album, and I would argue that this is west’s best vocal performance of his career. I don’t know if that’s really something worth bragging about, but it is something though…

Definitive Kanye West Song List! #20-16

#20. Slow Jamz ft. Twista, and Jamie Foxx – I honestly think that Twista might be the most “slept on” rapper of all time!… “Adrenaline Rush”, and “Kamikaze” are both amazing albums! If you consider yourself to be a “real hip hop fan”, make sure you’ve listened to both of those projects at least once…

#19. Touch the Sky ft. Lupe Fiasco – In the year 2005 (when this song came out), my two favorite rappers were these two gentlemen…. In an era of redundancy, both of these guys offered “rap fans” something different to the rap scene. Louie V. backpacks, and skateboards might not sound like groundbreaking subject matter, but at the time it was a breath of fresh air…

#18. Bound 2 – The “Yeezus” album was a very uncomfortable album to sit through and listen to. With the exception of “this song” at the very end, “Yeezus” was a very dark and drab experience… So it should come as no surprise that the only Soul sample of the entire project (a.k.a Kanye’s “wheelhouse”), would also be his best song of the album…

#17. New God Flow ft. Pusha T, and Ghostface Killah – Pusha T was really f#cking good on this song… Like Jay-Z featured on a Kanye track type of good…

#16. Drive Slow ft. Paul Wall, and GLC – Kanye reuses the 2Pac “Shorty Wanna be a Thug” instrumental, and  “tackles” a very similar subject matter on as well… Let’s be real… This song is basically “Shorty Wanna Be a Thug: Part 2” without a 2Pac co-sign…

Definitive Kanye West Song List! #15-11

#15. Flashing Lights – The Smoothest instrumental that will ever touch your precious little ears… #FACTS … Well except for…. The “little ears” part may be untrue because I don’t know you like that bruh, but the rest is definitely facts though…

#14. Monster ft. Jay-Z, Rick Ross, Nicki Minaj, and Bon Iver – The best Nicki Minaj verse of “all time isn’t necessarily the best selling point ever, but it is something…

#13. Good Life ft. T-Pain – There aren’t a lot of “fun laid back” Kanye West songs out there… Kanye is generally trying to prove a point, but this track is a break from all of that “seriousness”. It’s refreshing to experience that now and again…

#12. Runaway ft. Pusha T – The coast was pretty much clear through most of Kanye’s first three album release’s, but then… “808s and Heartbreak” happened… and then the consumer’s confidence in Ye’s music has now become somewhat shaken… Later that year when the “Taylor Swift incident” happened I think that a lot of general public was done with Mr. West and his antics… His career was in serious jeopardy, and he was in major need of a hit record… After a year long hiatus from the music industry, Kanye came back into the fold with this track, which took aim at the same people who had essentially wrote him off a year prior… If LL Cool J’s “Mama Said Knock You Out” is the greatest hip hop comeback track of all time, “Runaway” from Kanye West is a strong second place contender…

#11. Diamonds from Sierra Leone – I’ll be the first to say that this song has some serious Baarrzz in it!… It’s just a shame that this song was utterly eclipsed by the remix…

Definitive Kanye West Song List! #10-06

#10. Never Let Me Down ft. Jay-Z – Why don’t more people talk about this song? It’s fucking incredible! Jay-Z even raps over the chorus for Pete’s sake!… “Pete’s sake”… Now that is a weird fuckin’ saying. Like why should I worry about what Pete thinks? Fuck that guy! He’s probably an asshole anyways! Like one of those bastards that you have to stand and salute. I’ll Kapernick on that fool if I ever run into his weak ass… I’m DMX in this bitch! I don’t give a fuck!… ( I wonder what my mom would think if she read any of this? It’s moments like this where I’m glad she doesn’t…)…

#09. Everything I Am ft. DJ Premier – An often forgotten “classic” from Ye’s discography… DJ Premier tends to “bring that certain something” to all the songs he produces to instantly make them feel more “hip hop”. If Nas is the prototypical “hip hop MC”, then DJ Premier has to considered to be the prototypical “hip hop producer”…

#08. Last Call – Every “great” rapper has an origin story, but I feel like Kanye’s origin story has to be considered the most unlikely of them all… (thinks for a second)… Drake starting out as a actor on “Degrassi” probably challenges that last statement quite a bit…

#07. Jesus Walks – This song is overrated!… Someone had to say it…

#06. All Falls Down – Lauryn Hill’s “Mystery of Iniquity” is the song that is sampled here (check it out if you haven’t heard it before)… Kanye West isn’t really a “lyricist” per se, but this is his most lyrical track, and  there is some very nice wordplay found here…

Definitive Kanye West Song List! #05-01

#05. Stronger – This song was reportedly mixed over 75 times before Kayne settled on the current version of this song…. Now I know that might come off as being or sounding crazy to some, but to me i personally feel like instances like this are what make Kanye West the genius that he is… Now only if he put that same type of due diligence into the Yeezus album. That album might of actually been listenable after 75 mixes…

#04. Through the Wire – You can accuse Yeezus of a lot things (being a “ego manic” is a good one for example), but one thing you can’t say is that the man doesn’t have heart… The best example of this is his “heroic” performance on this song. When most people get into a serious car accident most choose to rest heavily and eat a lot of sherbet ice cream…. Kanye on the other hand opted to write and record a song instead. Both forms of recovery are viable, but it really just comes down to personal preference I guess…

#03. Big Brother – “No I.D. my mentor, now let the story begin”… It doesn’t get much more iconic than that…

#02. Can’t Tell Me Nothing ft. Young Jeezy – This is my all time favorite Kanye song, and you can’t tell me nothing otherwise 😉 …

#01. Diamonds from Sierra Leone (remix) ft. Jay-Z – Jay-Z is like a giant shadow that will forever loom over Kanye West rap legacy. Whenever some overzealous fan tries to make an argument for Kanye West being the all time G.O.A.T, people can point to songs like this one for example, and laugh directly in that person’s face… Kanye will never be “Batman”, but he does make an exceptional “Robin”…

Mighty Healthy – “Both hands clusty, chilling with my man Rusty. Low down, blew off the burner kinda dusty. The world can’t touch Ghost, purple tape, Rae co-host. Monty Hall expo, intellect, you read pro. Son trifling fuck, wildflower on the cycle and Picked up the broom thought I was Michael-in’.”…

#02. Wu-Tang Clan – Da Mystery of Chessboxin’ – “Speakin’ of the Devil, psych! No, it’s the God, get the shit right. Mega trife, and yo, I killed you in a past life. On the mic while you was kickin’ that fast shit. You reneged, tried again and got blasted. Half-mastered-ass style, mad ruff task. When I struck I had on Timbs and a black mask. Remember that shit? I know you don’t remember jack. That night, yo, I was hittin’ like a spiked bat.”…

#01. Wu-Tang Clan – Protect Ya Neck – “For cryin’ out loud, my style is wild, so book me. Not long is how long that this rhyme took me. Ejectin’ styles from my lethal weapon. My pen that rocks from here to Oregon. There’s more again, catch it like a psycho flashback. I love gats; if Rap was a gun, you wouldn’t bust back.”…

Definitive Ghostface Killah Song List! (part 1)

Definitive Ghostface Killah Song List! #50-46

#50. BADBADNOTGOOD/Ghostface Killah ft. Elzhi – Gunshowers – “Simple minds get blown, shattered into pieces. My thesis is thick like the Book of Eli. We live we die, we put ’em in the sky. Free your mind as a slave like the Fourth of July. This a sandstorm created from original thought. I bust boundaries son, you just do what you’re taught. My vocab is powerful, spit shit subliminal. Slang therapist, my whole style is criminal.”…

#49. Wu-Tang Clan – Tearz – “Hey yo, he came out laughing with glory. I’m surprised, he’s still livin’, to tell his story. But he carried on, with the same old stuff with Stephanie, like a whammy, he pressed his luck. Both tried to be down with O.P.P.. Ain’t nothin’ wrong but he got caught with the H.I.V. now, No life to live, doc says two more years. So after the laughter, I guess comes the tears.”…

#48. Momma – “It’s not ya momma fault, it’s ya fathers fault. It’s your fathers fault your mother is an alcoholic. Confusin the brain from the booze and the pain. And plus he cheated on her, beated on her, smack-dab in the rain.”…

#47. Wu-Tang Clan ft. Tekitha – Impossible – “Keep your head up, if you escape hell we gettin fucked up. When we was eight, we went to Bat Day to see the Yanks. In Sixty-Nine, his father and mines, they robbed banks. He pointed to the charm on his neck. With his last bit of energy left, told me rock it with respect.”…

#46.  Never Be the Same Again ft. Carl Thomas & Raekwon – “Hey yo, I gave you everything and you still fucked my head up. Children (I’m sorry Ghost) Not now, shut up. Got back off the road, heard you sleeping with fam. The whole hood ran up on me, I was like “Damn!”. So I stepped back, sized the whole situation patiently. Arguments, face up in the air like you hating me. Ask you one question, was it good? He have you on the wall like me, was it hood?”…

Definitive Ghostface Killah Song List! #45-41

#45. Metal Lungies ft. Sheek Louch & Styles P – “My buddy, keep my gun, right next to my tummy. Ask the click, yo, they spit metal lungies. Detach wigs, kill flunkies off contact, son see. Didn’t mommy tell y’all niggaz to wear clean undies? See y’all should of listened to her. She knew her son had a big mouth, and some day death would accur.”…

#44. Flowers ft. Raekwon, Method Man & Superb – “Bulletproof Wallets, 20 t’ya kids that says made outta Korea. Top Sear, pass the beer, last to see a raj (be beamed up behind the stove askin’ how Maria pop Leer). Cursed style near, burst out a purse with the gods you jeer. From Star’s Pizzeria, police hate the veer. Especially when the shots ring off in slow motion, when yo’ head hit the Meter.”…

#43. Wu-Tang Clan – Gravel Pit – “E with the English extinguish styles extremist
Bald head beamers run wild. It’s the kid with the gold cup, stepped out like what.”…

#42. Ghostface Killah & Adrian Younge ft. Raekwon – Black Out – “Death Row shit, fuck the lethal injection. Execute him and chop up his body in sections. Clean-cut butcher knives. X their eyes out. Nail ’em to a billboard. Let ’em dry out.”…

#41. Superstar ft. Busta Rhymes – “Mink coats, rock diamond wristlets. Bankroll so thick I don’t need a wishlist. Chain swing down to my torn meniscus. Red carpet affair, superstar status. Wish Mike was here to tell you I’m the (Bad)dest.”…

Definitive Ghostface Killah Song List! #40-36

#40. Wu-Block ft. Method Man – Pull tha Cars Out – “Every little spot they know me. Loyal females who can’t just give me the twat. They show me like I’m a big stock broker on Wall Street. I said, “Nahh, I’m that big drug dealer from 4E!”. A lot of guacamole, know a lot of parolees. Slung in front of a lot of these delis eatin cannolis.”…

#39. Blood in the Streets ft. AZ – “Ayo!, Gas Mask down. It’s revenge mode. I gotta level my levels. So I don’t explode. Gotta stay focused. Put on the Killah face. Figure how to get em’ all in the same place. Plot thickens, it’s all about the strategies. I look down in my bag and see a stack of cheese. Start making calls, buying artillery. Landmines and shit, niggas is killing me.”…

#38. Child’s Play – “Pretty little Sally sat up by the tree trunk. White miniskirt with a Betty Boom bum. She had a ass like Deborah Cox, face like Lauryn. Waist like a Coke bottles scoring.”…

#37. Criminology 2.5 – “It’s like a body in a project hallway, who did it? Who’s the next nigga that sucked the snit-ich. That’s my word, it could never be me. You see the deer head on the living room wall, like his neck fell off. That can be all sculptured and glazed with gloss. Call the shots that Bill Belichick would call. Snake niggas slither all in the glass house, racial slurs. When it’s time to go to war, they cash out. Throw ’em in the rear-naked choke, they tap out. Niggas try to surround the kid, I backed out.”…

#36. Slow Down ft. Chrisette Michele – “Looking lavish, I lace all my bunnies with karats. Spending millions and make music, I pay for the clearance. Cuz tomorrow ain’t promised and my bankroll’s bursting. Connects with Aston Martin, I’ll be that first in. That prototype truck, with the space navigation. Cost of living go up, I’m just go on vacation.”…

Definitive Ghostface Killah Song List! #35-31

#35. Wu-Tang Clan – 7th Chamber, Pt. II – “Slammin a hype-ass verse til ya head burst. I ramshack dead in the track, and that’s that. Rap assassin, fastin, quick to blast and hardrock. I ran up in spots like Fort Knox.”…

#34. Buck 50 ft. Cappadonna, Method Man & Redman – “We in two sixes, flirtin with bitches. Dime plush, takin pictures “How you doin baby, my name’s Ghost, Don’t get caught up in my chains or the way that I speak”. Seek intelligence, slickest nigga doin it since Grease.”…

#33. Rec-Room Therapy ft. Raekwon & U-God – “All we did is look mad fly, icicle rings. Whatever homeboy, you want it? You could get your receipt. A little closer, you can sense we got heat, it’s only me. Plus four other ill gangstas, we all anxious. To blow up your block and spank shit.”…

#32. The Watch ft. Raekwon – “Catch me in a crisp blue six, deep dish. Jaws is Cris’, valor stopped at the wrist. Watches involved, talk to me Trick Daddy. I liked the way you tilt ya hat up in that Caddy. Son, can’t believe you the most slept on. Took a break since the Cuban, niggas lookin’ like you just repped wrong.”…

#31. Wu-Block – Crack Spot Stories – “Henny bottles everywhere, smelling like ‘yac Bagging crack, sitting in the kitchen, wearing my mask. Robe on, tailored made in Italy, new Gucci denim. One slipper on, Brookstone, cushion. In the barn, number seven, hugging my neck.”…

Definitive Ghostface Killah Song List! #30-26

#30. Wu-Tang Clan – Careful (Click, Click) – “These are the bones, bones from the grave of Houdini. G-Deini, Ronzoni noodles sprinkled on your embry’. Climb like the deficit, profits, death threats. To Israel slid through Bethlehem bong on one wheel. Syringes, rubber bands, needles, the 60’s. Granddaddy Caddy was copping 6 G’s. B’gosh all that Oshkosh jumpers. Pink Champelle, brown paper bags, wall to wall bumpers.”…

#29. Wu-Tang Clan – Older Gods – “Aiyo, I roll like a bat out of hell, evil acapell’s fly. Spitting out of my grill before I hit the sky. With springtime colors, juicy as a Sunkist.”…

#28. Wu-Tang Clan – Rules – “Who the fuck knocked our buildings down? Who the man behind the World Trade massacres, step up now. Where the four planes at huh is you insane bitch? Fly that shit over my hood and get blown to bits! No disrespect, that’s where I rest my head. I understand you gotta rest yours true, nigga my people’s dead.”…

#27.  The Champ – “Godzilla bankroll. Stones from Stilion. Yo I ain’t got it all, that means I barely home. Trailblazer stay ballin. Revenge is my arts is crafty darts. While y’all stuck on Laffy Taffy. Wonderin’ how y’all niggaz get past me. I been doin this before Nas dropped the Nasty.”…

#26. Wu-Tang Clan – Uzi (Pinky Ring) – “Yo what the fuck yo?! Yo what the fuck y’all comin’ for? Get the fuck away from my door! We got big guns in here, coke over there. With blue bag and E pills stashed under the chair.”…

Best Sean Price Songs of All Time List!

Best Sean Price Songs of All Time List! #25-21

*update* Definition of God – “Sean Price, King Kong in the place. Big gun, watch the bullet bing bong in ya face. Murdered the bastard, he murders the surgery plastic. Face reconstruction when the 8 heating something, uh!”…

#25. The Lyrical P’s ft. Prodigy & Styles P – An absolute dream track from 3 of the best rappers with the letter “P” in their names…

#24. One – When it comes to “One” tracks… I prefer Ghostface’s “One” track over this one, but this one is cool as well………………….. One

#23. Heltah Skeltah – Everything is Heltah Skeltah – The third and final Heltah Skeltah album was… Ummm.. It was… Ok… It wasn’t their best, but there were some quality songs on there… For example… This song is pretty good…

#22. Boot Camp Clik – And So – Imagine how different the Clik’s mainstream success could’ve been had they ended up doing that “One Nation” collaboration album with 2Pac before his death… I can only imagine the possibilities…

#21. Director’s Cut – I know this track is short, and it probably wouldn’t make it onto most Sean Price lists, but this song is one of my personal favorite’s!…

Best Sean Price Songs of All Time List! #20-16

#20. Boot Camp Clik – Here We Come – A Heltah Skeltah song that got grouped into a Boot Camp Clik album… Not P’s most memorable track, but it’s a song worth mentioning on this list…

#19. Peep My Words – The track that officially started off Sean P’s solo career… Am I the only one who here’s the M.A.S.H opening theme song when listening to this song?…

#18. King Kong ft. Rock – Rock really brought the best out of Sean Price… To the point where even a lot of Sean P’s best solo work would feature his Heltah Skeltah counterpart in some form of capacity…

#17. Boom Bye Yeah – The amount of 90’s rappers who have died too soon is “alarming”… I cant even remember the last year where we didn’t wind up losing at least one vital member of hip hop to death. Its been awhile…

#16. Heltah Skeltah – Sean Price – The 3 most used “terms” in Sean Prices’s rap music

3. “Call me sire”…

2. “Word is Bon Jovi”…

1. “The brokest rapper you know”…

He also says “Andre Iguodala” a lot too…

Best Sean Price Songs of All Time List! #15-11

#15. Mess You Made ft. Block McCloud – The chorus on this song is ass… But, besides that… This song is quality!…

#14. Boot Camp Clik – Don’t Say Shit To Ruck – This song reminds me of that Youngbloodz track titled “Damn!”… All thats missing is Lil John on the hook yelling “Don’t start no shit, and there won’t be no shit!”… Besides that… Both song’s are virtually identical IMO…… (Disclaimer: None of this is true)…

#13. Remember ft. Freddie Gibbs – Two of the most underrated emcee’s ever link up on this track called “Remember”… Hopefully when its all said and done people will “remember” the contributions both of these rappers have made to the game because currently both have been  relatively “slept on” to this point…

#12. Violent – When it comes to “Violent” tracks… I prefer 2Pac’s “Violent” over this… Oh wait… I did this shit already… Moving on….

#11. Heltah Skeltah – Worldwide (Rock the World) – The second Heltah Skeltah album was arguably as good as the first… The group got away from the slow and melodic beats of the first album, and would Instead jump on some contemporary N.Y. style beats for this project… I’m assuming The Boot Camp Clik did this in hopes of landing some more radio play, but that never really came to fruition…

Best Sean Price Songs of All Time List! #10-06

#10. Heartburn – “I love selling nicks at night, go home, to my son. Roll a spliff and watch Nick at Nite.”… That’s classic Sean PPPPP!!! Right there…

#09. Onion Head ft. Tek – It’s hard to believe that Sean Price was working a construction job before his first solo album “Monkey Barz” came out… Being “The brokest rapper you know” was more than just a moniker for Sean P. in 2005…

#08. Heltah Skeltah – Therapy – Ruck… I mean Dr. Killpatient… Dissects Rock’s brain in one of the most memorable tracks off of the “Nocturnal” album…

#07. Heltah Skeltah – Undastand – This was the first Heltah Skeltah song to really grab my attention from their debut album… Outside of the weak cover art, every aspect of that “Nocturnal” was utterly classic! Easily one of the best “overlooked” hip hop album’s of all time…

#06. Heltah Skeltah – I Ain’t Havin That – The energy on this track is crazy!… This song also samples Redman’s voice on the hook which is fitting since its fairly obvious that Reggie Noble was influential to the Boot Camp Clik as a whole… I believe that even Sean Price references it on a song as well… Something like “I used to sell dope, and listen to Redman”… something something I can’t think of the rest man…

Best Sean Price Songs of All Time List! #05-01

#05. Bar-Barian – The instrumental on this track is nasty! Stripped down old school nastiness!… Is “nastiness” even a word?… Fuck it!… It is now…

#04. Heltah Skeltah ft. Method Man – Gunz ‘N Onez – Even on a song with 3 great rappers on it, when do you ever get great verses from everyone on one single track… The answer is “almost never”, but this song is an exception!… Method Man starts this song off with flames! To the point where when he’s finished with his verse you almost want to turn the song off because you know that nothing can top it… Then Ruck comes on and he basically does just that… With an emcee the caliber of Sean Price I guess that shouldn’t come as a totally shock to anyone… The “total shock” of the song comes from Rock on this record… He has hands down the best verse of the entire song!… Let me repeat that one more time… Rock out raps Sean Price, and Method Man on this song!… That shit is unbelievable!…Word up to the legend Biggie Small’s…

#03. P-Body ft. Rock – “The left hook’ll shatter your chin. Similar to Darryl Dawkins when he shattered the rim.”… “Nigga, kneel down, kiss the ring. R. Kelly a verse when I piss on your sixteen” … Jesus Christ!… Oh wait… What I meant to say was… Jesus Price!…

#02. Heltah Skeltah – Leflaur Leflah Eshkoshka – If anyone is wondering why Heltah Skeltah weren’t big mainstream successes in the 90’s… Look no further than this song… Naming a track “Leflaur Leflah Eshkoshka” is about as bad of a marketing idea as there is… Ironically this song would just happen to be the groups biggest “hit”, so what the fuck do I know…

#01. Heltah Skeltah – Operation Lockdown – Okay I get it… What I’m about to say might sound like blasphemy to some buuuttt… You can’t tell me… That this first… Heltah Skeltah album didn’t draw some form of inspiration… From southern rap music… In particular… The Dungeon Family… and to be even more particular… Goodie Mob… No New York rap group was making music like this in the 90’s! Black Moon’s music was similar, but was way more “hardcore” sounding at the time… Heltah Skeltah came onto the scene in 96’ with a fresh sound from a New York perspective, but if you were first a fan of Outkast, Goodie Mob, Geto Boys, etc. You probably couldn’t help, but feel like these boys were biting the south… Albeit at a very high level…

Best Big K.R.I.T. Songs of All Time List!

Best Big K.R.I.T. Songs of All Time List! #25-21

#25. Get Away – Songs don’t get much simpler then this, but in rap’s current climate this song is extremely fitting in both message and style…

#24. Confetti – The one characteristic that the majority of the Krit’s best songs share is that “visceral punch” that sets the energetic tone of Big K.R.I.T track. In Krit’s newest album (4eva Is a Mighty Long Time) he uses this same formula for his latest single (Confetti), and it works as desired, making this one of the most memorable tracks of the entire project…

#23. No Wheaties ft. Curren$y & Smoke DZA – There’s something great about this track that I can’t  quite put my finger on… Maybe it’s the quality rap feature’s on the song that make it a dope listen… It could also be the unusual subject matter that makes it a “stand out” song me… The beat is kinda jammin’ too… I’m just going to say that the answer is “D.”, all of the above…

#22. Boobie Miles “The only difference between a winner, and a loser is a winner plays until he wins.”…

#21. Time Machine ft. Chamillionaire – If you don’t have Chamillionaire in your playlist, you don’t know what real hip hop is… Said no one ever…

Best Big K.R.I.T. Songs of All Time List! #20-16

#20. What U Mean ft. Ludacris – The list of rappers that Big K.R.I.T collabed with over the years is an impressive one… Now if he could just get a Andre 3000 collaboration under his belt, I think my Big K.R.I.T collabo wish list would be complete…

#19. It’s Better This Way – The lack of new quality Big K.R.I.T music over the last 3 years has definitely changed the trajectory of Krit’s career drastically. It seems like only yesterday when Big Krit’s name was being mentioned as one of the greats of this generation… Unfortunately now in 2017 that isn’t really the case anymore. In most hip hop circles, Krit’s name has either been replaced or forgotten by the masses which is really a damn shame…

#18. Lac Lac ft. A$ap Ferg – For anyone who thinks that there are a lot of Cadillac reference’s in Krit’s music… you’re 100% correct…

#17. Money on the Floor ft. 8 Ball & MJG, and 2 Chainz – 2 Chainz was fucking every where in 2012!!!… I bet that’s what the Mayan Calendar was actually referring to, when it said that death and destruction would be upon us in 2012…

#16. Small As a Giant – Any song that “disses” Soulja Boy and Bow Wow is quality IMO…

Best Big K.R.I.T. Songs of All Time List! #15-11

#15. Pay Attention ft. Rico Love – If you never heard this songs hook sung by a Mexican immigrant in english, you don’t what your missing… The explanation for that last sentence would be longer then this entire list, so I’ll just keep it movin…

#14. 4EvaNaDay Theme – Do you remember when the mixtape era was in its prime 5 years ago? More classic mixtape’s were dropping than actually album’s… The ability to stream music has basically axed the whole mixtape idea at its core. When all music is virtually free to listen to, branding something as “free” is essentially pointless…

#13. R4 Theme Song – Rappers really need to start sampling Andre 3000’s voice more!… That might sound like an odd statement to make, but listen to this song and tell that it’s not true… 3 Stacks is one of the most iconic hip hop personalities of all time, and sampling someone’s song or voice is a great way to continue an artist’s legacy long after they are gone from the game…

#12. REM – The thing that I think I enjoy the most about Big K.R.I.T’s music is the classic sampling style that he incorporate’s in a lot of his music. That’s something that you just don’t see much of in today’s music. That style add’s a touch of timelessness to a song that you just don’t peep that much in this era where music has become virtually disposable after a few listens…

#11. Children of the World – “Krit Wuz Here” was the first Big Krit project that really garnered people’s attention. The mixtape wasn’t perfect, but it started the trend of Krit dropping awesome material for completely free…

Best Big K.R.I.T. Songs of All Time List! #10-06

#10. The Vent – One the oddest Krit song’s out there just so happens to be one of his best as well…

#09. King of the South – I remember when this song came out in 2014, some people had a “real problem” with Big K.R.I.T making a song titled “King of the South”… On a related note, some people are just fucking stupid straight up…

#08. Sookie Now ft. David Banner – Mississippi’s two best rap exports unite on this “dream record” of sorts… Lyrical substance be damned! This track is blast to listen too, and David Banner isn’t on his usual conscious tip which is a refreshing change to hear now and again…

#07. Soul Food ft. Raphael Saadiq – “What happened to the soul food?”… Have you ever spent a considerable amount of time around poor Americans nowadays? I do it for a living, and most of the people that fit that description don’t even know how to cook microwaveable food, let alone soul food… The state of America is a fucking disgrace right now for real (SMH)…

#06. King Without A Crown – Thunderous! That’s one word you could use to describe this track… Other synonyms that would be acceptable would be “banging”, “quaking”, “sub shaking”, and “woof rattling”…

Best Big K.R.I.T. Songs of All Time List! #05-01

#05. Cadillactica – How the fuck did this song make it to the 3:30 time mark? Krit is going 100 Mph on this track! I can’t imagine he ever performs this song in concert because it seems like it would be extremely hard to replicate… It’s not quite on the level with the Tech N9ne/Eminem song titled “Speedom” (which came out the same year), but this song is still blazing fast none the less!…

#04. Dreamin’ – This is the song that made me a Big K.R.I.T fan!… With that being said I would venture to say that this song also happens to be my overall favorite Krit song as well!… I have only glowing things to say about this track…

#03. Country Shit (Remix) ft. Bun B & Ludacris – Big K.R.I.T’s Vevo YouTube page has such few views in comparison to contemporary rappers nowadays… This song just so happens to be his most viewed video and it has less than 10 million views! That’s criminal!…

#02. Hometown Hero – Maybe the very best song Krit has ever put out? I have it at #02 because I feel like it lacks the same overall importance that the next track on list possesses…

#01. Mt. Olympus – Not very often is a “response song” better than the original response it’s self, but that was precisely the case with this track. The instrumental that Krit uses on Mt. Olympus is nuts!… It’s a shame that the original version of this track couldn’t be “cleared” for a Big K.R.I.T studio album because that could’ve potentially lead to a lot more people hearing it overall…
